Echoes | Adult Teacher Commentary | Summer 2026
Echoes offers lessons that help adults understand Scripture in its original context and apply it to their everyday lives. Each quarter is packed with valuable resources to elevate your teaching. Every lesson in the Teacher Commentary contains an invitation to prepare for the lesson, the Bible study text and commentary as printed for students, additional teacher-specific commentary, and suggested answers to discussion questions.
Writers of color compose every teacher invitation and lesson introduction and contribute to many other sections of the lesson. Each quarter includes a Black history article featuring a biography of people of faith, an interview with a ministry leader, or an investigation of eras of social change.
Lessons are organized in these easy-to-follow steps:
- Start the Conversation—an introduction and two or three questions to spark a connection that prepares the class to engage the themes of the biblical text.
- Study Today’s Scripture—side-by-side KJV and NIV® translations, printed together and unpacked using an engaging commentary style that focuses on the canonical message of Scripture. Teacher Commentary notes give even more information (theological and/or biblical-historical) that is easy to share. Discussion Questions and Answers are written in a way to spark curiosity.
- Apply the Message—a review and conclusion apply a consistent message arising from the biblical text; additional Discussion Questions create space for reflection.
- Live It Out—a takeaway or prayer activity gives each person an opportunity to respond to God’s invitation. The teacher also has a suggested prayer to dismiss the group. Everyone leaves with a key verse from the lesson and a list of weekly readings, along with a challenge to reflect on something related to the lesson to come.
With flexible options, each session is designed to meet Christ followers where they are, to help them grow deeper in their walk with Him. Foster spiritual growth and lifelong discipleship with these practical, Bible-centered lessons.
Order one per teacher.
